My coming out letter

The night before I started presenting fulltime, I posted the following to facebook:

Hello friends,

I have something to share with you. I am a transgender woman.

My name is Sarah and my pronouns are she/her.

I think many of you are aware that I've struggled for a long time with depression. Fighting or ignoring this truth has been a major contribution to that.

Which is to say, this is joyous news. I am living my authentic life and I am excited for you all to know a newer, better version of me.

If anyone wants to understand more about what I'm going through and/or how you can support me, here is a good place to start: https://transequality.org/about-transgender

If, however, for some reason you do not wish to support me or are planning on being shitty about this, you can (as always) go fuck yourself and defriend me. *

~Sarah

*Editor’s note: This is a rhetorical device I often use on facebook when I want to make it clear that I have no interest in engaging with dipshits. I encourage you to adapt it for your own use ;)
